Changes to Auckland Bowls Champion of Champion events

September 2, 2016 by Carlton Cornwall Bowls

Below is advice received from Auckland Bowls regarding changes to their Champion of Champion events

Below is advice received from Auckland Bowls regarding changes to their Champion of Champion events-

Auckland Club Championships
(Formerly known as the Champion of Champion)

After consideration the Auckland Bowls Operations Committee has made the decision to allow a Club to send a team of either the winners or runners up or a combination of both to the Auckland Club Championships without applying for a replacement or substitute. The reason for this decision is to allow a team to still represent their Club even though the original team in its entirety is unavailable. This will maximise player participation and Club representation.

Entry Requirements for the Singles and the 1-5 Year Champion of Champion Singles
The Champion of Champion Singles and 1-5 Year Champion of Champion Singles will remain the same. The winner of the Club Championship in the Singles event will be the player to progress to the Auckland Champion of Champion Singles event. No replacement will be permitted.

Entry Requirements for the Pairs
The winner of the Club Championship Pairs will be the team that progresses onto the Auckland Club Championships. If the winning team or any part thereof is unavailable a member/s of the runner up team is permitted to take their place. If after this a substitute and/or replacement are still required then an application will need to be sent to Auckland Bowls which will go to the Operations Committee for approval.

Entry Requirements for the Triples
The winner of the Club Championship Triples will be the team that progresses onto the Auckland Club Championships. If the winning team or any part thereof is unavailable a member/s of the runner up team is permitted to take their place. If after this a substitute and/or replacement are still required then an application will need to be sent to Auckland Bowls which will go to the Operations Committee for approval.

Entry Requirements for the Fours
The winner of the Club Championship Fours will be the team that progresses onto the Auckland Club Championships. If the winning team or any part thereof is unavailable a member/s of the runner up team is permitted to take their place. If after this a substitute and/or replacement are still required then an application will need to be sent to Auckland Bowls which will go to the Operations Committee for approval.

Half Day 6’s
This season for the Half day 6’s ONLY Auckland Bowls is encouraging any category of Club Bowling member to enter this event. This is a trial to see if we can encourage clubs to achieve greater membership.
Entry Requirements for the Half Day 6’s: In this event only – any category of Club membership are permitted to enter.
