Jill Fraser met the up-and-coming 4th year bowler Sheila Putu from St Heliers in the semi final. Jill went off to a 14-8 lead but struggled to hold onto that differential eventually dropping 6 ends in a row for the score to be all tied up 16-16. Sheila Putu continued her consistency to secure the win 21-16, a good effort from Jill.
Tony Garelja met Gavin Brown from Royal Oak in the semi final. Tony shot off to a 5 shot lead against Brown being 14-9 ahead but that margin was soon to become tighter. The game kept each player on the tips of their toes with only one shot in it 17-16 to Tony. Garelja powered through the end of the match prevailing 21-16.
Tony’s final battle was against Pt Chevalier’s Alex Reed. “Tony was first up on the score board but had Alex close behind to take 4 ends from him bringing the score to 7-5 in Alex’s favour in the 6th end. The game was tied up in the 10th, 12th, 14th ends. From this point Alex took the lead and was up 14-10 in the 16th end. Tony accelerated his game from the 17th end winning the next 6 ends.
