World Masters

Carlton Cornwall Bowls is proud to be the Headquarters for Lawn Bowls for the World Masters Games – 21-30 April 2017

 

We are located on the outskirts of the picturesque Cornwall Park www.cornwallpark.co.nz – at 126 Market Road (on the corner of Market Road, Campbell Crescent & Puriri Drive, next to St Cuthbert’s School on Market Road).

Our club member – Marlene Castle a Commonwealth Games medalist  is an Ambassador to the World Masters Games for Lawn Bowls.

Accommodation nearby: Cornwall Park Motor Inn, Ranfurly Motel & Auckland Newmarket Motel. Otherwise many other options on Greenlane Road West.  Or look at Airbnb as an option to stay with a local family – https://www.airbnb.co.nz/

If you are staying in the city centre – Buses to our club – any bus going to Mangere or Onehunga from the city with a route number starting with a 3 will take you to us (check with your driver first). Get off in Manukau Road by Burger King (opposite King George Avenue) just past Campbell Crescent.

Our greens will be available for practice on Thursday 20th & Friday 21st.

Other clubs being used during the games are Remuera Bowling Club – 1.8km from us and Epsom Bowling Club – 1.2km from us.

Food: We will have food available for purchase each day of the tournament. On practice days we are walking distance to Subway, Burger King plus other food outlets.

Bar: Our bar will be open each day of the tournament.

Parking: For players is in a carpark adjacent to our club – (access off Puriri Drive) entry through the side gate to our grounds.

Club items for sale: We will have available for purchase – caps and badges plus chalk & toucha.  Please note we do not accept credit cards, so bring NZ$.  There is an ATM within walking distance.

Facilities: Showers are available. Our club has wheelchair access.
