BOARD OF MANAGEMENT

Roles of the Board of management include:

To develop and implement strategies, policies and procedures for the administration, promotion and development of the Game of Bowls in the Club;

To develop and implement prudent policies to protect and enhance the Club’s finances and property;

To control, manage and expend the funds of the Club including the power to invest or otherwise deal with such funds, and to incur liability as it may think necessary or expedient, in accordance with the powers of the Club set out in Rule 5 of this Constitution;

Nick Krajancic
President

It was 1989 , Nick was working at Honda Cars Broadway just 500 meters away from the Carlton Bowling Club.

One Friday afternoon in July a workmate of his – Wilson McLennan who was bowling at  the time at Pakuranga Bowling Club, asked Nick to go and have a drink with him at Carlton Bowling Club just a few doors up from their work.  The following September Nick joined Carlton Bowling Club.

During the 26 years at the club Nick has served on most committees, 6 years as a Greens Superintendent,  2 years as  Vice President and now for the 4th year as President.

As a  first year bowler he won the Club First Year Singles and went on to win Auckland Centre First Year Champ of Champ singles.

Nick was a member of Auckland Junior team for 4 years has one National Fours Title,  15 Club titles, 5 Auckland Centre titles and a Gold star.

Nick am a  loyal Carlton Cornwall member and have never been a member of any other club.

Jeanette Sinclair
Vice President

Jeanette started playing bowls in 1985 in Greytown, Wairarapa centre and became an umpire in 1991.  Moving back to Auckland she was elected President of the Auckland Umpires Association in 2002.  Was awarded the  Auckland City award for services to sport in 2004.  She was appointed to represent BowlsNZ as an International Technical Official at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne.

Her involvement with Auckland Bowls began when she was elected to Auckland Bowls Operations committee in 2004 and became President of Auckland Bowls for a two year term 2009-2011.

Joined Carlton Cornwall Bowls in 2011 and was nominated to the Board of Management in 2013, elected vice president 2014 and re-elected 2016.

Jeanette is currently elected Vice President of BowlsNZ.

Gerard Hulst
Chairman

Gerard started playing bowls in January 2010 at Rawhiti Bowling Club.  He was appointed to the Rawhiti Board in June 2012 and was part of the Committee that saw the closure of the Club and the disbursements of the funds to the bowling community.  Gerard joined Carlton Cornwall Bowls in January 2014 and joined the Board in June 2015.  Gerard is a Chartered Accountant and ran his own insolvency practice from 1992 to 2003 at which time he joined the Auckland University of Technology where he is currently a lecturer in accounting and financial literacy.

Gerard has one Carlton Cornwall Junior title and one Senior title.

Max Hamilton
Board Member

Max started playing bowls in 1979 at Thorndon in Wellington and at Carlton Cornwall since 1993.  He has 1 Auckland Centre title  and over 20 Club titles. In the past 37 years, Max has served in excess of 29 years on committees including  2 years as Secretary,  9 years as Treasurer  and President for 2 years of Carlton Cornwall  during which time the Club hosted the 2012 NZ Nationals.

Max is still a capable bowler notable for his colourful  “beach” bowls and still works for ANZ Bank in head office at Albert St.

Graeme Collie
Board Member

Graeme is an enthusiastic member of the club, often assisting behind the bar and helping with corporate bowling events.

Often referred to as the Mohammed Ali of the greens, his draw floats like a butterfly and his drive stings like a bee.  He exhibits much promise, but is yet to reach his full potential.
